I speak, tell stories, ask questions, and bring people together around the things that matter.

I’ve spent my life paying attention to people and to the moments when something shifts.

A question that changes the way someone sees themselves. A story that makes an idea land differently. A person who sees potential where someone else saw limits.

I’m interested in what happens when we question the rules we’ve inherited, see people for what they’re capable of, and create the space for something new to become possible.

Put Jinan in the room.

On a stage. In a conversation. Behind a microphone. In front of a camera.

I love the moment when an audience stops simply listening and starts thinking differently.

Sometimes that happens because of something I say.

Sometimes it happens because of a question I ask.

Sometimes it happens because someone in the room finally hears an idea expressed in a way they hadn’t considered before.

Those are the moments I’m interested in.

Topics I’m exploring

We spend our lives following rules we never agreed to about success, relationships, family, and who we're supposed to become. What happens when we decide to write our own?

You can follow the script, check every box, and still end up asking, “Is this actually the life I want?” This is a conversation about success, tradeoffs, and knowing what you're really optimizing for.

What becomes possible when we stop deciding who people are supposed to be and instead truly see them, believe in their potential, and give them room to become it?

Education is about more than what happens in a classroom. It's about expanding what people believe is possible. What happens when we trust the people closest to the work and build systems that allow potential to thrive?

We're taught to value independence, but none of us are meant to do life alone. What happens when we get intentional about the people, relationships, and communities that help us become who we're meant to be?

Art

Another way I pay attention.

Speaking makes me pay attention to people.

Art makes me pay attention to everything else.

Color. Texture. Memory. Movement. The things we notice. The things we almost miss.

Sometimes I understand an idea by talking about it.

Sometimes I understand it by making something.

About Jinan

I started my career as a teacher.

Since then, I’ve spent my life moving through education, advocacy, philanthropy, culture, partnerships, public engagement, and rooms filled with people trying to make something meaningful happen.

Along the way, I’ve worked with educators and communities, built partnerships, helped organizations grow, collaborated with public figures, told stories, asked a lot of questions, and learned that the work I love most usually starts with people.

Today, I speak, interview, create, and bring people together around ideas I can’t stop thinking about.
